KARJÄÄRIREIV 2023 IMPRESSIONS FROM STUDENTS

13 Mar 2023

Madis, II year student of Economics and IT:

“I really liked Black‘s approaching to finding an internship – you shouldn’t wait for it to come down from heaven, but to work for it by plan where maps and signs are people around you. Networking, sitting down ang getting to know people and introducing yourself is the key to find your way. Black gives quick introductions how to network and keep yourself warm.

Realo approaching – success is different for everyone – is nice to hear. If you do not get the medals, become a star or get much money, it doesn’t mean definitely that you are not successful in your job. Having a happy family and doing things you love is also a really adequate measurement for success – it is important that you know what the success means for you.

Failing is normal part of doing things. You can’t fail doing nothing but often even worse than failing is to do nothing. “Bunny doesn’t drink champagne”. However risks shouldn’t be taken anyway and it is really necessary to value the situation, find the best solution and renew your plan when getting new info.

Sven Anderson talks about burning through – something that many students struggle with. Trying to achieve the perfection is not necessary to anyone if it comes the cost of your health. We shouldn’t forget our private life and taking time to rest and goals should be set as you have time to pay attention to them. Feeling that the world is melting – say no, cut out all that you can and try to refind the inner peace.

Ida, II year student of Economics:

“Being a photography enthusiast, it was very inspiring for me to see Jake Farra. He talked about her journey to one of the most successful photographers in Estonia and what his investment portfolio had to survive before growing big. He also talked about what it has taken from him during the university years – working as a photographer at night in the clubs, editing the photos after that and doing little nap in the morning before school. When you have found your goal in life, be determined, keep the focus on finding additional income and developing nice connections with people similar to you.

I also really liked musical-comedian Andreas Melts, who at the first looked like just a chill man with a guitar, but when he started singing, it was very engaging. His music is very cosy and humorical, which probably crabs the attention of everyone. In addition he confirms that it is really okay to do the things you like and do not have a complete career plan since childhood.”
